“Fantastic Tour with cold AC”
Our tour guide Rod was very knowledgeable and entertaining. We have been on several trolley tours and he rates as one of the best. The amount of knowledge he imparts is amazing. This trolley is the only one with AC and it was nice because it was hot and humid with intermittent rain showers.
“Awesome!” - Captain Rod's Colonial Trolley Tour was fantastic! Learned so much history! He even offered suggestions of places to eat, and we really enjoyed his Eugenia Price book synopsis! Thanks!
“Handicapped Accessible” - We were going to ride on another trolley and the trolley wasn't handicapped accessible. Luckily there weren't enough people so we waited to see about the next trolley. Captain Rod showed up with his handicapped accessible trolley. My son is in a wheelchair and it was no problem at all. As if that wasn't good enough the tour was FANTASTIC. The information given was fun and so educational. Captain Rod made us want to listen and hear more. I was sad when the tour came to an end. Thank you Captain Rod for the wonderful tour and the care you showed my son.
“Colonial Island Trolley Worth the Cost” - Although the trolley cost $20 per person, the tour was worth it. Our driver, Rod, knew the history of the island, as well as general history of the United States. He did a terrific job of both educating us and entertaining us, keeping the pace of the tour flowing well as we navigated the island. We enjoyed the many points of interest as we toured, especially the history of the First African Baptist Church and the Freed slave community. The avenue of the oaks were spectacular and Rod's history of The Battle of Bloody Marsh with General James Oglethorpe was riveting.
“The best way to be indoctrinated to St Simon's Island!” - Captain Rod's narration of the history of the island, the geographical features, the variety of restaurants and the overall indoctrination to the Island was outstanding. His very detailed explanations of events and the history held our attention from the beginning to the end of the tour. All of his information was highlighted with a delightful sense of humor that made the tour even more enjoyable.
